Liturgist

Liturgist is a Sunday Morning Volunteer position that helps lead the congregation in worship by reading liturgy (Call to Worship, Confession of Sin, Scripture Passage, etc.) during the service.

Details about the position:

  • For the week the Liturgist serves, he or she will receive a document (usually on Friday) containing the liturgy for Sunday as well as any special instructions. The liturgist uses this document to practice, making the material familiar both in content and spirit.

  • Liturgist arrives 15 minutes before the first service, connects with a pastor or worship leader, and sits on front row near the liturgist podium (right side of stage) for both services.

  • Liturgist serves during both services on assigned day. (The liturgist may leave after reading the sermon passage in each service.)

  • Volunteers can serve as little as 1 Sunday a month.
