Information Desk Volunteer

Love meeting new faces? If so, our Information Desk Volunteer opportunity is just right for you. Information Desk Volunteers help new families get their children signed into the check-in system for Nursery and Children’s Sunday School.

DETAILS OF THE POSITION:

  • The volunteer comes prior to the start of first or second service to be at the information desk in the lobby. 

  • While at the desk, volunteers look for people who are new and/or  approach the information desk for information on how to get their children into the nursery or Sunday School. 

  • Volunteers receive training on how to enter new names into the check-in system and printing badges so that they can assist new families with this at the Information Desk (thereafter, families will check in their own children at the kiosks). Volunteers also provide maps to the Sunday School classes and give information and instructions about when children are dismissed and join their Sunday School classes.  

  • Although volunteers may be approached with general information questions, no worries about not knowing the answer. Feel free to direct individuals to a nearby host or staff to answer any questions for which they don’t know the answer.  

  • Above all, volunteers are to be the friendly, hospitable face that helps find another person to answer non-check-in related questions. 

  • Staff are always available to help troubleshoot technological issues (with Realm or printing name tags) as well as general church questions (ex: “Are there any Women’s Bible Studies available?”)
