Children

In the Children's Ministry of All Souls, we have some very important priorities.

1. To provide an atmosphere where infants and toddlers are nurtured in Christ versus "child care."

At All Souls, we take seriously our responsibility for the little ones whom God has entrusted to the care of our church family. We value their personalities, abilities, and immense potential for spiritual understanding. For this reason, we desire to do more than the traditional "child care" model of nursery and children's ministry. Instead, we seek to provide an atmosphere where even our infants and toddlers are nurtured in Christ during their time with us.

How dow we do this?

First, the time we spend with our children is intentional and "scheduled": In other words, they are creatively nurtured through story time, puppets, songs, learning Bible verses, playtime, and even skits. All of these are intended to teach and challenge them to understand more fully God's love for them in Christ.

Second, our kids get a lot of individual attention. Our classrooms seek to maintain a very low ratio of workers to children: four to one for Infants, and six to one for toddlers.

2. To create an environment where children can become lovers of God's Word and worshipers of Him.

To do this takes a lot of work and special consideration for specific age groups. We teach our children in the way that is best for them, using a curriculum that is stimulating, easy to teach, and promotes a love of God's Word. This curriculum is taught by a well-trained and equipped Children's Ministry volunteer staff.

3. To assure clean and safe surroundings.

It is very important to us that your child is provided with the cleanest and safest environment possible. This is why our infant and toddler rooms have no small toys that could pose a choking hazard. Every toy and surface is thoroughly cleaned each week. And we have a very clear sick policy, which is intended to prevent our children's rooms from becoming a breeding ground for illnesses.

Also, every room is staffed by a professional childcare worker, assigned to a specific room. Each of these workers has undergone an extensive background check. All Souls likewise conducts random background checks for other workers in our children's ministry. We also have a tight security procedure that is intended to provide safety for the children and peace of mind for the parents.
