EvenPsalm: Monthly Women's Gathering

EvenPsalm

Second Thursday of the month, 7:00 - 8:30 PM

(Upcoming Dates: April 11, May 9)

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5

All Souls is excited to announce a new, monthly, evening offering for women – EvenPsalm, a time of Scripture, prayer, and small group sharing. Tara Koski will be facilitating these evening gatherings, and she was inspired to start this because, “At this time in my life, I have a deep desire and need for a space of quiet contemplation and prayer. EvenPsalm will provide a time of stillness before God and with other women of All Souls.”If you are interested in spending quiet time before the Lord by reading the Psalms and The Book of Common Prayer, journaling, praying, and sharing in small groups, please join us the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:30 PM downstairs in the Prayer Room or Youth Room (depending on how much space we need.) No need to register or read anything to prep–come as you are, whenever you’re able!

Why is it called EvenPsalm?

The Liturgy of the Hours is the daily prayer of the church, marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer. Traditionally, Evensong is the name for the worship service that is usually held in the late afternoon or early evening (also known as Evening Prayer or Vespers) and typically includes hymns, prayers, and readings from the Bible. It is meant to be a time of reflection and contemplation at the end of the day. In order to honor this tradition, while also differentiating our event from one with music (and stressing our focus on the Psalms), we named this EvenPsalm.
