Tara Berry

 

Communications and Administration

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Tara is responsible for keeping the office open and running smoothly, directing the communication avenues and some of the general congregation-wide events at All Souls.

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I love that we try to really think about the purpose of each part of ministry - we deconstruct things and then try to build them back in a very authentic and worshipful way, always trying to get rid of anything that is simply Christian-Culture and not the gospel."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

Tara was a part of the lauch team for All Souls and first couple of years before moving overseas to London from 2005 to 2007. Upon returning to Atlanta, she moved to East Lake to be near All Souls. She previously was on staff with CRU, then worked in publishing, then study abroad with James Madison University and Georgia Tech before joining the All Souls staff in May 2013.

 

MORE ABOUT TARA:

Tara and her husband, Chris, love good food, traveling, living in the city and anything creative (from art to movies/TV to home projects).

Keri Dziuban

 

Women's Ministry

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Keri provides women with opportunities for connection, community and discipleship. She plans and oversees the women's studies and also organizes retreats and other events for women.

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"The community of women at All Souls has been instrumental to my personal spiritual growth. My hope is to be able to continue to foster a safe place for women to learn, question and grow."

 

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

"I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I have also lived and worked in Georgia, North Carolina and Swaziland. My degree is in elementary special education, and I have worked in various roles instructing students, parents and teachers. My latest position has been taking care of my sons and keeping our household somewhat functioning."

 

MORE ABOUT KERI:

"My husband Eric and I originally attended All Souls in 2005, and one of the positive factors of moving back to Decatur in 2012 was to rejoin the All Souls family. We have two sons, Ezra and Cole, and we like family bike rides, local travel and neighborhood hangouts. When I am able to squeeze in some time to myself I enjoy running, reading historical fiction (and People magazine), binging on Netflix shows from the late 90's and trying different varieties of white wine."

Alisha Ensor

 

Children's Ministry Coordinator

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Alisha provides overall leadership for the creation, development and implementation of the vision for all classes and activities related to the Children’s Ministry.

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I love the mission of All Souls. It constantly makes my evaluate my walk to live in the world, but not be ruled by it."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

"I am a Midwestern girl at heart. I grew up in Wisconsin, love the Packers, Brewers, beer boiled brats and cheese curds....but NOT the cold! After school, I packed up and moved to Rhode Island where I got my degree in Culinary Arts/Foodservice Management, and met my husband, Nate. After college we moved to Atlanta, and have settled into the southern way of life."

 

MORE ABOUT ALISHA:

"I have three energetic kids: Lily, Jack, and Hazel. In my spare time I enjoy baking, running, and sewing."

Kathryn Groce

 

Youth Ministry

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

"I oversee the youth ministry with students from grades 6-12, in addition to overseeing confirmation class."

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I love digging in deep with students and families as they navigate teenage years; building relationships with students in the community and leading them to closer relationship with Christ."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

Kathryn has lived all over the country, but most recently was in Denver, Colorado before moving to Decatur with her husband, Jon, in July 2016. She has a Masters in Youth and Family Ministry from Denver Seminary.

 

MORE ABOUT Kathryn:

"My husband and I enjoy hanging out with our dog, Riley, cooking burgers and watching Jeopardy. I also love the beach, the lake and basically water of any kind!"

Lori Jackson

 

Financial

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Lori is responsible for the recording and reporting of the finances, essentially making sure the coffee is paid for and the lights stay on.

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I have enjoyed the tasks of the job as well as the spiritual stretching that my job entails. I am in constant challenge to trust God for the finances of our church family."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

Lori has a background in accounting and was a part of the lauch team for All Souls. She joined the staff team a little over 10 years ago. Lori works part time at All Souls while raising her children.

 

MORE ABOUT LORI:

 

"I enjoy spending time with my husband, Josh, and my 3 kids. In my rare moments of spare time I enjoy reading and playing tennis."

Jamie Smith

 

Nursery Coordinator

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

"It is a joy to provide a safe and loving place for the littlest ones of All Souls. Enabling parents to worship in the service knowing their kids are being loved on is a pleasure. I can also be found welcoming new guests to All Souls at the Registration desk each Sunday by answering questions and pointing people in the right direction."

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"God created us to be in community, and I am thankful that All Souls encourages us to live life that way. I love that each Sunday we are challenged and encouraged to go out and serve others as someone who loves Jesus."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

Jamie grew up in the Atlanta area and worked for a missions organization before staying home with her children. She and her husband Nathan joined the All Souls community shortly after getting married in 2008. They have two girls, Jillian and Lydia.

 

MORE ABOUT Jamie:

Jamie recently jumped into homeschooling her two girls and has enjoyed (most days) the new adventure. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, discovering all there is to do in the Atlanta area. She also loves to spend time reading, running, and has a love for dark chocolate.

Mike St. Denis

 

Assistant Pastor

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Mike oversees community groups, assimilation, our facilities, membership seminar and confirmation class.

 

WHAT DOES HE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I love getting to be part of the lives of so many people, both in our church and in the community."

 

WHAT DID HE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

"I grew up in Roswell, GA, before playing football at Georgia Tech and graduating with a B.S. in Psychology. I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity."

 

MORE ABOUT MIKE:

"I'm married to Meredith, and we have two daughters, Bailey and Kenley. I love all things Atlanta Sports, spending the day on the golf course, and I've been coaching football in the City Schools of Decatur since 2012."

Tafanie Van Wyngarden

 

GLOBAL MISSIONS

SPECIFIC DUTIES: Tafanie loves staying in touch with our global missionaries, encouraging and advocating for them. She is also responsible for engaging and mobilizing All Souls members in God’s mission among the nations.

 

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

“I like that this place challenges us not to go to church, though that is fruitful, but to BE the church wherever we go and to participate in the kingdom work of love and justice without fear.”

 

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

Tafanie grew up in Tennessee and has done short-term missions in Ukraine, Honduras, and Brazil. She taught middle school English in Northern Virginia where she met her husband, Cory. They have 3 girls – Bell, Emmaline and Ruby.

 

 

MORE ABOUT TAFANIE:

Tafanie is addicted to Pinterest and organization. Planning is her love language. If it’s not chocolate, it’s not dessert in her opinion. She enjoys playing games, hiking and folly with friends and family.

Carrie Wheeler

 

Worship Director

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Carrie's responsibility is to organize and develop the music and liturgical component of worship at All Souls.

 

WHAT DOES SHE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"Being a part of the All Souls staff family has deepened my faith, challenged me personally and is richly rewarding relationally. Being deeply involved in All Souls since the very beginning has shaped my view of worship as being the whole of life, not just music."

 

WHAT DID SHE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

"I have been playing and singing in church since I was just a wee tot. I studied psychology and music in college, but honestly, experience has taught me as much or more than 'book learning.'"

 

MORE ABOUT CARRIE:

"My 3 children are the biggest joy of my life! I’m so enjoying getting to know them as young adults and am super proud of the awesome people they are. I love making music of all sorts, cooking, reading, hanging out with good people and watching good TV."

Shayne Wheeler

 

Senior Pastor

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Shayne is responsible for the overall vision and mission of All Souls. He is the founding pastor and lead Sunday morning teacher at All Souls.

 

WHAT DOES HE LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL SOULS?

"I like the posture of grace and acceptance of broken people that exists at All Souls."

WHAT DID HE DO BEFORE THIS ROLE?

"Originally from Nashville, I have served churches in Missouri, Virginia, and the suburbs of Atlanta before moving to Decatur in 2001 to start All Souls."

 

MORE ABOUT SHAYNE:

Shayne is married to Carrie, and they have three kids (21, 19, 16). He enjoys exercise, reading history, premium cigars, and his sweet Harley Davidson.
